Mori Link for iPhone
The official iPhone app for Studio Mori: pair once with a 6 digit code, then send work to your Mac or Windows computer from anywhere, watch it happen live, and pick up any conversation where you left it.
What it is
Mori Link is free on the App Store. It is Mori in your pocket: the work still runs on your computer at home, in your real signed in apps and browser, with the same memory and tools as the desktop. Your phone is the remote and the window.
Ask for a project from the train and come home to finished files on disk. Ask for a screenshot and it lands in the chat.
Pairing
Sign in to Mori Link with the same Studio Mori account as your desktop. Then:
- In Mori Link, open Chat, tap the desktop icon, and generate a 6 digit pairing code.
- On your computer, open the Mori Link page of the desktop app, on Mac or Windows, and type the code.
From then on your computer runs commands only from that confirmed phone. If the code does not match, the desktop says so and you try again; if it hears nothing, check that the phone is showing the code and is signed in to the same account. The desktop must be signed in under Account first.
What the phone can do
Once linked, your phone can:
- run terminal commands, with what they print coming back;
- read, edit and build files;
- control the browser on your computer, signed in as you;
- send email with attachments through the Gmail signed in on your computer, and messages through the chat apps connected there;
- run tasks with several steps;
- use your full memory and tools.
The Live view shows what Mori is doing on the computer: the terminal, the files, the steps and her thoughts, as they happen.
Why it runs on your computer
The phone does not pretend to be you from a server. Your real browser, your files and your signed in accounts are on your computer, so that is where the work happens, and the phone carries your words there and the results back. It travels over your own private channel on your Studio Mori account, and the computer acts only on the phone it confirmed.
When the computer is off or asleep, the phone cannot reach it. Work that must keep going while your computer sleeps belongs on a cloud machine.
Conversations everywhere
Threads follow you: start one on the desktop and continue it on the phone, or the other way round. With a paid plan, chats and memories sync across your devices through your account. The phone shows the same workflow cards and phase boxes as the desktop, so a long job reads the same in both places.
Your plan on the phone
Your plan in Settings shows your tier and managed usage. A plan bought in the App Store is managed in your iPhone's subscription settings, and Restore purchases brings it back on a new phone. A plan bought on the website works in the app too, since your tier and usage live on your Studio Mori account. Running on your own keys works as well, through your computer.
App Store plans carry fewer monthly credits than the same plan bought on the website, because of the App Store's own cut. See Plans and credits.
Look and feel
Mori Link has the desktop's Porcelain look, a Night look, and Auto, which follows your phone. Response style sets replies to Concise, Balanced or Detailed, and Personality sets her tone.
